Instead of starting in a boardroom, Liam's journey with Costa Sunglasses started on the water. Liam got to know the Costa crew at a young age because he grew up surrounded by fishing competitions and conservation events like trash clean-ups and symposiums hosted by the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust. At the Herman Lucerne Memorial Backcountry Championship, friendly rivalries developed into sincere relationships.

Liam was thrilled to be involved when Costa reached out about making the first pair of youth sunglasses," Liam says. "Being a part of something designed for kids like me who are serious about fishing is cool." Liam remembers, "I started fishing when I was three." I was initially more interested in eating snacks and playing with the baitfish, but my dad and his friends, including Captain Benny Blanco, kept me near the water. At that point, it became stuck.
