About Free the Ocean
In August 2019, founder Mimi Ausland launched Free the Ocean. Free the Ocean is an environmental platform that allows anyone to fund the removal of plastic pollution from oceans and coastlines for free. Not only does answering the daily trivia fund the removal of plastic, but it also educates you about human oceans and raises awareness of the plastic issue.
Their main aim is to build on three equally important pillars: sustainability, education, and action. Free the Ocean’s e-commerce shop functions as a sustainable alternative to traditional online retail. Products are sourced from small businesses and carefully vetted to ensure they are 100% plastic-free and kind to animals, packaged and shipped carbon-neutral & useful for everyday sustainable living.
