About IHG Hotels & Resorts
The headquarters of the worldwide hospitality corporation IHG Hotels & Resorts are located in Windsor, Berkshire, England. In addition to operating, franchising, and leasing more than 6,600 hotels worldwide, the business has 375,000 employees. In 1998, Bass increased the size of its hotel company once again by purchasing the upscale Inter-Continental hotel chain from the Saison Group. Juan Trippe had developed this brand.
As a result of its development beyond the Holiday Inn brand, the hotel division was renamed from Holiday Hospitality to Bass Hotels & Resorts. The Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and InterContinental brands accounted for the majority of IHG's 3,325 hotel properties at time. Of those, the corporation owned or leased 190, while the rest were under franchise or management agreements.
